The Ozarks are preparing to host the 37th Annual Trail Ride from May 12-18, 2024, promising an unforgettable experience for nature and horse riding enthusiasts. As the region awakens in the late spring, participants will be treated to the unparalleled beauty of the Ozarks’ scenic landscapes, with everything from flowering seasons to the lush greenery of the forests and the vibrant blooms of spring wildflowers.

This year’s event, taking place amid the forested hills and along the banks of the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers, offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. With temperatures ideal for trail riding and sometimes warm enough for a swim, the event is expected to draw an attendance of 100 to 200 guests, leaving ample room for newcomers to join.

Organizers invite participants to explore the trails independently or join one of the guided trail rides available from Monday through Thursday, which will feature lunch cooked on the trail. The event ensures a return to camp for lunch on Friday, catering to those looking for a meticulously organized trail riding experience.

The gates will open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with the event concluding on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Despite the limited availability for extended stays, there is still space available for those wishing to make reservations.

To enhance the experience, the event will include nightly dances from Saturday to Friday, a tack sale, daily organized rides, cattle sorting, and equine clinics, ensuring a diverse range of activities for all attendees. Interested parties are encouraged to call 573-226-3492 to secure their spot.

In terms of eligibility, full package admission requires guests to register for a minimum of three days or pay the equivalent, while partial package admission (excluding meals) necessitates registration for the full week or the equivalent payment.

It’s important to note that no dogs are allowed at the event, with the exception of service dogs. Guests with service dogs will need to register their animals upon arrival and ensure they are kept under control and on a leash at all times outside a trailer. Verification beyond a certificate from the internet or a service dog vest will be required to ensure compliance and safety.

This annual trail ride not only celebrates the beauty and spirit of the Ozarks but also brings together the equestrian community for a week of adventure, learning, and camaraderie.
